Five Stars
Kill the British.
a little disappointed
I was a little disappointed as I bought it for a gift and because it was listed as new.
Good historical read
It was very interesting to find out how the Irish were persecuted..
No Headline Necessary
Horrific is an oft overused term today but it is the perfect word to describe this extraordinary account of the Irish famine.
Five Stars
An excellent book-
well laid out, on a sad period of Irish history.
The best overall study of the Famine I could find...
This book is not psychologically easy to read, but for those who study Irish history it is a must.
I want another one
I purchased this for my son who is constantly searching for more information on his Irish heritage.
Historically balanced and presented
It is superbly researched and presented.
A MUST READ - A+++
I first bought this book at the Famine Museum years ago in Ireland - it is the best book I have ever read explaining in A+ academic style exactly how it came about that millions of Irish died during what most call "famine," when it was just potato blight - there was plenty of food to be had, but the irish poor weren't ALLOWED to have it.
