Bard spoilt what would have made a great comedy

By the end of this tragedy, for some unfathomable reason considered by many to be one of the greatest works of drama in the history of world literature, if not THE greatest, 10 characters wind up dead, 5 of them goodies: Cornwall's servant, Gloucester, the Fool, Cordelia and Lear; and 5 of them baddies : Cornwall, Oswald, Goneril, Regan and Edmond.

Conflation fights back

Although RA Foakes' Arden3 edition appeared some years after those of Wells & Taylor and Jay L Halio it did not follow their precedent of issuing separate texts based on Quarto and Folio originals.

Lauding Lear

Perhaps one of the best of Shakespeare's plays, King Lear is worth a good read.

Solid edition

This is a conflated edition of King Lear, with Foakes combining the two original sources.

That's what Men say when Women rule nations

This is a terrific play, and the characterization is remarkable.

SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING IN WASHINGTON AND U.N.

This is timeless Shakespearean drama, about a King and his three daughters, wrapped around corruption, betrayal and tragedy.
